Tasneem Dosoqi
This session will take you on a rollercoaster journey we had in Sahseh, from the moment we decided to throw out everything we'd built over the last 5 years and start anew. Why did we make this decision? When did we decide to take this bold step? And how did we navigate the challenges along the way? We'll dive into the essential steps and strategies needed to overcome our barriers and build the next generation of the Sahseh platform, so you can also break your barriers and unleash your startup goals to the sky!

Hacker Culture
Abdulaziz Alaboudi
Saudi Arabia is pushing into tech with events like hackathons and bootcamps, but it's not yet making a big splash globally. The missing piece? Embracing hacker culture—a world of creative, curious programmers who've built things like Linux and Gmail. By really getting into this culture of innovation and sharing through open-source, Saudi can boost its tech scene and become a global tech leader. This talk is about how adopting the hacker mindset can be a game-changer for Saudi's tech future.

Federated Learning: A Collaborative, Privacy-Preserving, Decentralized Approach to Artificial Intelligence
Faruk Caglar
One of the key challenges in Artificial Intelligence is to utilize diverse and large volumes of data from different organizations to build strong, safe, and privacy-preserving AI models, all without centralizing sensitive proprietary data. This means getting different organizations who own sensitive data to collaborate safely, which is a big challenge in all fields. In this talk, Dr. Faruk will present what the Federated Learning approach is and performance comparison of the Breast Invasive Carcinoma model with centralized approach to tackle these crucial issues and resolve the above challenges.

Privacy Perceptions and Behaviors of Google Personal Account Holders in Saudi Arabia
Eman Alashwali
While privacy perceptions and behaviors have been investigated in Western societies, little is known about these issues in non-Western societies. In this talk Eman will share research results and lessons learned from conducting in-depth interviews with 30 Google personal account holders in Saudi Arabia about their privacy perceptions regarding the activity data that Google saves about them, as well as any steps they take to control Google’s collection or use of this data. She will conclude with insights and future direction in usable privacy and security research.

Large Language Models as Building Blocks
Jay Alammar
The rise of large language models is inspiring a wide variety of application ideas and experiments. For builders to become more adept at building with LLMs, it's important to gain an understanding of using LLMs as components of advanced pipelines, and not of being a text-in text-out monolith. In this talk, Jay covers a number of LLM applications covering generative use cases, as well using language models for semantic search and data exploration.
